On May 21, 2026, the 21st Probiotics and Health Symposium, hosted by the China Institute of Food Science and Technology, officially opened at the Pan Pacific Ningbo Hotel. The conference brought together leading experts, scholars, and industry representatives to engage in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge probiotic science, industrial transformation, and standards development.
On the morning of May 21, the conference’s main forum officially released the Scientific Consensus on Next-Generation Probiotics. Ms. Zhu Jiaolin, Chairwoman of UNISONS, was invited to participate in the launch ceremony as a corporate representative. This recognition highlights UNISONS’s achievements in both R&D and industrial application in the field of next-generation probiotics.

Focusing strategically on Akkermansia muciniphila (AKK), UNISONS has established integrated strengths across the entire value chain, from scientific research to large-scale manufacturing. The company currently operates the world’s first 100-ton-scale intelligent AKK production line, breaking international technological monopolies.
To address the key industrialization challenges of AKK—including large-scale production, activity preservation, and quality delivery—UNISONS has achieved four major technological breakthroughs:

During the conference, a delegation of academicians and experts visited UNISONS’s exhibition booth at the event venue. Following the conference, they also toured the company’s headquarters for an on-site inspection. During the visit, UNISONS demonstrated its full-chain capabilities covering “strain screening – fermentation processes – quality control – finished product delivery.”

On the morning of May 22, the specialized forum “New Technologies and Translational Applications in Probiotic Research” was successfully held. The session was co-chaired by Professor Li Wei, Vice Dean of the College of Food Science and Technology at Nanjing Agricultural University, and Dr. Yang Cheng, Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of UNISONS.
Dr. Yang Cheng delivered a keynote report titled Technological Iteration and Innovation in the Diversification of Functional Probiotic Foods. He pointed out that probiotic-fortified formulated milk powder is an important category of functional probiotic foods. Through technological innovation, effective dosages can now be achieved by adding only several billion high-quality probiotic powder cells to milk powder formulations.

Dr. Yang further shared UNISONS’s systematic innovations in process technology:
Notably, Dr. Yang also presented key comparative data showing that in milk powder products with relatively high water activity, the survival rate of UNISONS’s 100% domestically produced probiotics after long-term room-temperature storage has reached levels comparable to internationally renowned brands.
By incorporating Yuansheng’s high-quality and cost-effective probiotic powder, dairy manufacturers can more easily comply with the viable bacteria requirements specified in the National Food Safety Standard for Milk Powder and Formulated Milk Powder (GB 19644-2024), officially implemented in February 2025, ensuring viable bacterial counts remain ≥10⁶ CFU/g throughout the product shelf life.
Dr. Yang emphasized that continuous advancements in probiotic powder processing technologies are helping China evolve from a global leader in probiotic research into a true powerhouse in the probiotic industry.

Looking ahead, UNISONS will continue upholding its commitment to high standards, high activity, and high stability products. The company will remain focused on the R&D and industrial transformation of next-generation probiotics, working alongside academic societies, universities, and industry partners to drive China’s probiotic industry toward high-end domestic substitution.
